I remember being a kid, and – having watched the Incredible Hulk, seeing a special visit to the show’s set on Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood (links below). The two things I distinctly remember about that show were: 1. Bill Bixby was a total fucking gentleman, a portrait of patience and kindness – taking time to carefully answer Fred’s questions and bolster this special episode’s theme of separating fiction from reality. 2. Lou Ferrigno appeared acutely uncomfortable with Fred’s openness and unreserved line of questioning, at times even adopting a defensive demeanor. It was quite a cathartic moment for me as a young person – to see this representative embodiment of strength and power made visibly uncomfortable by one of the gentlest souls alive.
